Here is the blog for the last day of our trip to Arles.

Today was the last active day of our trip, it started out amazing and ended likewise. We were welcomed at luma for the first two days and invited to the ornithological park on the the third. Today was a phenomenal continuation to the previous experiences. The day started out at the ‘Tour du Valat’, where we were welcomed by the director of the association, explaining the importance of wetlands and the threats that put these amazingly rich places in danger. We had the opportunity to look through a observation post overlooking a swamp with an amazing variety of wild life. We had the chance to discover about the Cistude turtle and it’s importance in these amazing ecosystems, and about the issues invasive species represent for humide zones such as the louisiana crawfish wich poses a real threat to this amazing place. After a delicious meal we had the chance to take a nap before leaving for the domaine’s private beach, having dinner on a wooden deck overlooking the orange colors of the sunset, being taken back and forth on a cattle tractor.

This week has been an amazing experience, probably one of the most interesting and rich 5 days we will ever have, everything from the people to the food was a show of creativity and originality truly a reward worth paying the price of the investment in the science on the move competition. We truly thank the support of Roche and the simply science foundation in the privileged experience of the first place prize in the science on the move competition.

We are sad to be leaving and wish to give you thanks for reading this blog. We do recommend this competition to anybody who wishes to able to show their scientific spirit and have the chance to win such an experience.
